Mary Monson NMBio Board Member Sr. Manager, Sandia National Labs |
| Mary Monson has over 25 years of management experience at Sandia National Laboratories in technology partnerships, intellectual property (IP), commercialization, and business development. She is the Senior Manager and ORTA Program Director for all technology transfer and business development activities at Sandia. This $30 million program fosters partnerships with industry, academia, government, and other laboratories and is responsible for deploying Sandia‘s IP portfolio of 3000+ patents/copyrights. Previously, she was responsible for managing and licensing Sandia’s IP portfolio which led to an increase in commercial licensing by 130%. She established the business development capability at Sandia, which is now over 100 staff and supports all Sandia mission portfolios. Mary serves on the executive board of the DOE Technology Transfer Working Group (TTWG) and has served as chair of the National Laboratories Technology Transfer (NLTT) executives. In support of economic development in New Mexico, she also serves on the board of the state’s Technology Research Collaborative and the executive board of the New Mexico Biotechnology and Biomedical Association (NMBio). Prior to joining Sandia, Mary worked for a decade in high tech companies including Unisys Corporation, Texas Instruments, and Digital Equipment Corporation. |
